From the foundation to the roof, by the same crew.

Robert's Home & Yard Improvement is Carlos Robert and his crew, based in Hyannis and working on houses from Bourne to Truro and up into Plymouth County. In the video he walks through a 2,600 square foot house they built from the ground up: framing, windows and doors, cedar siding, the roof and the decks.

We are bilingual, locally owned, licensed and insured. You get a free estimate in writing, progress photos while we work, and a straight answer if something we find changes the job.

What we do

The outside of your house, handled by one crew.

Most exterior jobs on the Cape touch more than one trade. A new roof means new flashing at the siding. A rotted deck ledger means opening up the wall. We do all three, so nothing falls between two contractors.

01 / ROOFING

Roof replacement and repair

Missing shingles after a storm, a stain on the ceiling, or a roof that is simply at the end of its life. We find the actual source of the problem before we quote, and we tell you straight whether a repair will hold or a replacement makes more sense.

  • Full tear-off and replacement with architectural asphalt shingles
  • Leak repair, storm damage and missing shingles
  • Flashing at chimneys, walls and skylights, the usual leak points
  • Rotted roof decking and fascia replaced before anything goes on top
  • Sheds, garages and small outbuildings too
"Carlos and team did a great job roofing my shed. I would highly recommend them."Maggie B., West Dennis

02 / SIDING

Cedar shingle and siding replacement

Cedar shingles are the look of the Cape, and they need someone who knows how to lay them straight, keep the courses even and flash every opening right. We replace worn sections, re-side full walls and rebuild the trim around them.

  • Natural white cedar shingles, the classic Cape Cod finish
  • Clapboard and low-maintenance siding options
  • Partial repairs blended into the existing wall
  • New house wrap, flashing and trim at windows and doors
  • Rotted sheathing found and fixed while the wall is open

03 / DECKS & STAIRS

New decks, replacements and repairs

  • Custom deck design sized to your yard and how you use it
  • Wood, composite and PVC decking and railings
  • Full replacement of rotted or unsafe decks and stairs
  • Front steps, landings, porches and lattice skirting
  • Repair, cleaning, staining and painting of existing decks

Recent work

Built right underneath, so it lasts on top.

Drag the slider. Every deck we build starts with what you never see again: footings, a flashed ledger, beams and joists set right. Then it gets finished clean. The photos below are real jobs from around the Cape.

Questions

Before you call.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. We come out, look at the roof, siding or deck in person, and give you a written quote. No charge and no obligation.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are licensed and insured for residential and commercial work in Massachusetts. We're happy to share proof of insurance with your estimate.

Should I repair or replace?

It depends on what we find. A few missing shingles, a bad section of siding or a couple of soft deck boards can often be repaired. If the problem is underneath, like rotted decking, sheathing or framing, we'll show you and explain why a repair won't hold.

Can you do the roof, siding and deck on the same house?

Yes, and it usually saves you time and trouble. One crew means the flashing between the roof, the walls and the deck ledger is done by the same people, which is where most leaks start.

What deck materials do you work with?

Pressure treated wood, hardwood, composite and PVC, for both decking and railings. We'll walk you through the cost and upkeep of each during the estimate.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the size of the job and the weather. You'll get a start date and an expected timeline with your written quote, and we keep you updated with photos as we go.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.
